As time flies by, the highly anticipated yet highly controversial exhibition bout between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson draws closer and closer.
Set for July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the final details of the fight are being ironed out. Despite it being an exhibition, both fighters will have to adhere to random drug testing.
Mike Tyson abstains from cannabis smoking
Tyson will also have to pass EKG and EEG exams, as is standard for boxers in Texas aged above 36 years old. While those are the official rules, Tyson is submitting himself to a personal rule: no cannabis smoking.
While speaking to Fox News, Tyson revealed he will abstain from smoking until after the fight.
Maybe it has something to do with my tripolar tendencies or something. But I don’t think I am going to smoke for this fight. I think I am going to be very irritable and nasty… Normally I do, but for this particular fight I think I’m going to go pretty raw and naked.
Tyson seems to literally want to be irritated and annoyed heading into the fight. That could spell bad news for Paul, as an even-keeled Tyson may have been more accessible in the ring.
Whatever happens, July 20 at the Dallas Cowboys stadium is set to be a spectacle.
