Jake Paul has cheekily named himself as ‘the greatest’ while standing beside Mike Tyson after the two officially signed their contracts for their controversial fight. Paul, 27, will fight Tyson – who will turn 58 by the time the two men step into the ring at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium – on July 20.

The two men posed for a photo after signing the contracts, with Paul writing in the caption: “The greatest heavyweight boxer of all-time, and Mike Tyson #contractsigned”.

Paul will step up to heavyweight for the first time in his career, with a 9-1 record while having three impressive victories after his split decision loss to Tommy Fury last year. Meanwhile, Tyson will step back into the ring for the first time in almost four years, after his exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr in 2020, this time facing a man 31 years his junior.

Tyson has been roundly criticised for agreeing to step back into the ring at his age, with medical professionals telling him he will put his health at serious risk should Paul’s demands be met.

Paul is adamant that he and Tyson will not wear headgear when they step into the ring, with them reportedly looking to make the fight a fully professional bout as they seek sanctioning from a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), with their formal approval pending.

Despite contracts being signed by both men, but details have yet been made official to the public. The bout is highly unlikely to be more than eight rounds, with suggestions it will be just six.

Should the fight indeed be made professional, it will be Tyson’s first in 19 years – since his 2005 loss to Kevin McBride before his retirement.

But despite many being concerned with Tyson, the legendary fighter has posted numerous videos of him looking in truly incredible shape.

In a recent video, Tyson said: “Jake Paul, where you at? Fighting is a sport: if you’re not humble, it’s going to bring humbleness to you.”
