In the Main Event Super Bantamweight Jose Tito Sanchez, 13-0 (7), #121 ½, of Cathedral City, CA, scoring a line knockdown defeated a game southpaw Erik Ruiz, 17-11-1 (7), #121 ½, of Oxnard, CA, over 10 rounds.

In the first two rounds it was all Ruiz out landing Sanchez with an effective jab and good footwork avoiding the ever coming forward Sanchez. In the third round switching again to southpaw Sanchez dropped Ruiz with a right hook on the chin after several good body shots and an 8-count from Referee Thomas Taylor. Ruiz was smiling as he went to his corner.

In the fourth rounds final minute Sanchez landed half a dozen unanswered punches.

In the final seconds of the round Sanchez rocked Ruiz with a combination to the chin.

In the fifth round Ruiz again used his jab for half a minute effectively until Sanchez took over landing flurries without return.

In the sixth round Ruiz got back into the fight. Sanchez’s corner let him have it between rounds of not finishing Ruiz.

In the seventh round halfway through Sanchez from southpaw landed a solid lead left to the body hurting Ruiz who has never been stopped.In the eighth round Sanchez had another big round but couldn’t put Ruiz down though giving him a good body beating.

In the ninth round Sanchez landed punch after punch until the final minute when a clash of heads caused a cut on the left eyebrow of Ruiz.

In the tenth and final round as hard as he tried Sanchez could not drop Ruiz who landed a right drawing a bit of blood from the nose of Sanchez. As it looked like he was stopping Ruiz the bell sounded. All scores were 97-92 as did KH.

In the co-feature Super Bantamweight Manuel “Gucci” Flores, 17-1 (13), #122, of Coachella, CA, knocked out Alberto “Metro” Guevara, 27-7 (12), #121 ¾, of Tijuana, Baja California, MEX, at 2:31 of the second round of a scheduled 10 rounds.

In the second round Flores had the nose of Guevara bleeding from a solid jab. Halfway through the round from southpaw a left to the body followed by a right hook from Flores on the chin dropped Guevara with a delayed knockdown and out for the count of Referee Jack Reiss. Guevara returned after four years of inactivity. Lightweight Joshua “Americano” Garcia, 8-0 (4), #132, of Moreno Valley, CA, came off the canvas to win a split decision over game Diuhl “Elegante” Olguin, 16-37-7 (10), #131 ¼, of Guadalajara, Jalisco, MEX, Oak Hills, CA, over 6 good rounds.
