With Courtois’ return, Andriy Lunin and Kepa Arrizabalaga will have to compete for the backup role, despite both being talented enough to start for any club. Their playing opportunities will diminish if they remain at the Bernabeu. According to Diario AS, Kepa is certain not to continue his association with Real after this season. The Spanish goalkeeper will return to Chelsea once the campaign concludes.

Kepa has only started in three games since December. He was initially assured of the number one spot in Real’s goal during the early stages of the season, but an injury in November saw the 29-year-old goalkeeper lose his place entirely. Kepa still has one year left on his contract with Chelsea.
