Connor tricked his parents before, using behavioral issues to break up Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Chelsea and reunite her and Adam.
He locked Christian Newman (Alex Wilson) in closets, he broke lamps, and finally it was the last straw when he locked him in the garage overnight. Christian was terrified with no way to turn on lights or call anyone for help!
Chelsea finally realized that Christian was not safe with Connor in the house, and she broke up with Nick and the two moved in with Adam-sleeping on the couch at first.
Eventually, Connor was able to manipulate them into a reconciliation that lasted until Chelsea’s brain aneurysm burst.

For a short time, Adam and Chelsea and Connor were a happy family, even adopting a kitten for Connor, which Connor took along to boarding school. But she and Adam headed for a breakup, with each of them having major mental problems-Chelsea becoming nearly psychotic.
Since that time, each went their own way, Nick and Adam having their separate romances as well as Chelsea, who took another nosedive and spent time in a mental health facility.
Chelsea became close with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) in the process, but it’s been a very codependent relationship.
Connor actually likes and gets along with Sally Spectra, (Courtney Hope) but she’s not Mom-it’s more like she’s a big sister to him.

Of course, if Connor is faking this OCD to manipulate his parents’ reconciliation again, it’s majorly backfired-he doesn’t want to live in a place far away. He doesn’t want to be in therapy to begin with -but could he fool the expert psychologist?
Think about it-it’s in his genetic makeup; Chelsea did a masterful job of faking her continued paralysis after her brain aneurysm, and Adam’s pulled off some con jobs of his own.
Sadly, Adam and Chelsea may be suffering the aftereffects of parents telling them “I hope you get one just like you” when they were being brats and misbehaving!
More likely, Connor wants his parents together and is trying to manipulate them into what he hopes will be a happily ever after with him!
