Trent Alexander-Arnold has been praised by fans for his magnificent volley in England’s 3-0 victory over Bosnia, with some thinking he has made a strong case to start at the Euros later this month.
On Monday night, the Liverpool star scored his third goal for the national team with a fantastic strike from a tight angle. His goal doubled Gareth Southgate’s side’s lead at St James’ Park, following Cole Palmer’s opener on the hour.
Harry Kane came off the bench to score his 63rd international goal on his 90th cap, but it was the Liverpool defender, making his sixth consecutive appearance for England in midfield, who stole the show.
The 25-year-old found space on the right flank and blasted a precise shot following a clever cross from Jack Grealish.

To add to the mystery of Alexander-Arnold’s performance, his goal came after he was shifted to his more familiar right-back position following England manager Gareth Southgate’s flurry of substitutions.
The Reds player appears to be one of several players pushing for a midfield spot with Declan Rice at the European Championships.
Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher, who started with him on Monday night, Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo, and his Liverpool teammate Curtis Jones are also in the running.
Crystal Palace teenager Adam Wharton, who made his England debut, is another player being examined, while Premier League Player of the Year Phil Foden is also capable of playing in a deeper midfield position.
Alexander-Arnold improved his chances of making the final 26-man squad, or maybe the starting XI, for the Three Lions tournament opening on June 16, although fans still believe his best position is in defence.
