Jurgen Klopp was photographed taking it all in at Anfield as he prepares for his final game in command of Liverpool.
The German’s nine-year reign as Reds manager will come to an end this Sunday when they face Wolves on the final day of the season.
His reign has seen him become the club’s best manager of the Premier League era, winning everything there is to win, including the Champions League in 2019, and breaking their 30-year title drought the following year.
Emotions are anticipated to run high this weekend, but photographs released on social media have already tugged at Liverpool fans’ heartstrings.
The 56-year-old was seen standing alone in the center circle and in the seats, with fans on social media speculating that he was making a farewell video ahead of his final game in charge.
Jurgen Klopp was spotted taking it all in, standing alone in the center circle at Anfield.
A fan in the grandstand posted a video of Klopp on the pitch, adding, ‘He’s just standing in the center circle alone and it’s very sad. He’s taking everything in.’
Liverpool fans reacted to the video, with some stating they were ‘heartbroken’ over the German’s departure from the club.
One fan commented, “That video of Jurgen Klopp standing alone in Anfield taking it all in by himself really got me.” I genuinely feel heartbroken. Nine years is a significant part of our lives.
@Raws_LFC wrote, ‘What a guy, irreplaceable,’ while another fan tweeted, ‘This has me gone already.’
A fourth fan wrote, ‘I absolutely didn’t anticipate that. The rush of emotions I felt when I saw that was unexpected. It will be incredibly difficult to be emotionally stable on Sunday.
@HawkieHawkins96 stated: “To put this into context, I was about to turn 17 when he was appointed LFC manager…” I’m currently 27 years old.
‘Been a significant part of my life, supporting this amazing club.’
Another fan stated on Sunday that they will be a ‘grown man crying like a baby.’
Klopp joined Liverpool in October 2015 and has been their greatest manager during the Premier League era.
