Wiz Khalifa shared that he first met Snoop Dogg in 2011 after Snoop discovered his oldest son listening to Wiz Khalifa’s music. “Snoop’s son became a huge fan of mine,” Wiz Khalifa recalled. “He was in the room smoking weed and listening to my music, and Snoop was like, ‘Who is this guy?’ He hadn’t really felt connected to what was happening in rap for a long time, so when he heard my music, he said, ‘Doing this is really difficult.'”
At the time, Wiz Khalifa was on tour. “Snoop showed up and said, ‘I really like your music. I heard it through my son, and you sound like some brothers from my time. So when you go to Los Angeles, call me,'” Wiz Khalifa continued. “Then we went to the studio and recorded the remix of ‘Black and Yellow.’ After that, I was surprised when he said, ‘We’re going to record a film with a soundtrack, we’re going to go on tour, we’re going to be a duo. You’re a good guy.’ And he kept his word,” Wiz Khalifa added.
This meeting marked the beginning of a close professional relationship and friendship between the two artists, highlighting Snoop Dogg’s genuine appreciation for Wiz Khalifa’s talent and their collaborative efforts in the music industry.
