We often hear the phrase “swamp monster”, which can be scary carnivorous creatures such as pythons, crocodiles, or even mysterious creatures that people imagine in movies. However, if you encounter humanoid sea monsters, what should you do?
In France, a female tourist was walking by a swamp when she suddenly discovered in the distance a hairy “sea monster” bending down to drink water.
This “water monster” has a very human-like appearance, making her momentarily terrified, wanting to run to the police.

However, local people were able to stop the girl and thoroughly explain the situation. It turned out that the “water monster” she saw was a sculpture.
The place where the girl passed belongs to the Marshes Natural Reserve in Séné in the Morbihan Bay of France. Here are displayed statues by sculptor Sophie Prestigiacomo, they are mainly made of wood, covered with mud and moss to create realistic images that look like hairy people.
These sculptures, called Homo Algus, have appeared scattered in this swamp area since spring 2012.
With the image of people still naked, alone, devastated and helpless, the author wants to convey the message about the direct relationship between humans and nature – when the environment is destroyed, humans Humans will be the most affected creatures, and we need to raise awareness about environmental protection issues.
