According to reports in Argentina, Real Madrid has already made contact with Liverpool, but no definite offer has been received at Anfield.
And it is believed that the Spanish title winners and Champions League finalists consider Mac Allister as the guy to replace long-serving midfielders Luka Modric and Toni Kroos at the Bernabeu.
Real is now in negotiations with Modric about extending his stay in Madrid for another year.
The Croatian maestro, who will turn 39 in September, is said to be willing to accept a lower pay in order to extend his stay at the club for a 13th season.
Kroos is also in talks with Real, namely regarding a one-year deal that will keep him there until 2025.
Mac Allister joined Liverpool from Brighton for an initial £40 million last year, with the deal potentially valued up to £52 million.
According to the Argentine press, he has a release clause worth roughly £60 million that Real Madrid or any other club might exercise.
Mac Allister has made 32 Premier League appearances for the Reds this season and 45 overall.

He has been a major component of Jurgen Klopp’s new-look midfield, scoring four Premier League goals and providing five assists.
With Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Naby Keita leaving last summer, Klopp has had to establish a totally new engine room.
